Article How to Host an Amazing Hot Tub Party (Yes, it is all fun and games!) By Probuilt Staff January 26, 2023

With the holidays in the rearview mirror, you may be feeling a bit of a post-celebration let-down. Sure, Valentine’s Day is coming up, but if romance is not on your radar, there are still great ways to have fun this winter.

With a hot tub from Probuilt Pool & Patio, you can host an unforgettable hot tub party for your friends! Some of the most memorable parties started in a hot tub. Nothing can really beat relaxing in warm water, a few water jets massaging your back, and being in the company of some of your favorite people. Throw in a fun water game, and the celebration just gets better.

If you want to host a successful – and unforgettable – hot tub party, here are a few tips for you:

  1. First, you have to clean. No one wants to get in a dirty hot tub. That would be completely uninviting. So, be sure to thoroughly clean your hot tub and the surrounding area in advance of the party. A clean and inviting place sets a great mood for everyone in attendance. Be sure the water in your hot tub is fresh, too. You may also want to invest in some spa water fragrance for a nice, subtle aroma. Rinse out all filters and scrub the rings around the waterline. Don’t ruin the fun by inviting your guests to get into a dirty hot tub.
  2. Create an uplifting atmosphere. First rule of thumb: turn on the music. If your spa does not have a sound system, then position an iPod or radio at a safe distance from the hot tub and keep the songs rolling. Be sure the volume is low enough so as not to impede conversation amongst your guests but make it loud enough to be heard. Consider the type of music your guests will want to listen to, as well. Lean into relaxing songs to get them into the calming spirit.
  3. Snacks are a must. While being in warm water tends to suppress the appetite, you should have a few foods on hand. You don’t have to go large, so a small bounty of appetizers and finger foods will work best. Drinks are important, too. When in a hot tub, people tend to get thirsty. As such, have a cooler of lemonade, tea, and water on hand. If you want some alcohol, save that for after your hot tub session, but in moderation. Alcohol and hot water are not a healthy combination. Trust us. Your friends will thank you later. Also, use plastic cups when in the hot tub.
  4. Bring on the entertainment. This is where the games come in. If the party spirit is dying down a bit, pull out some waterproof playing cards. Amp it up even further and grab some squirt guns! You can also have some great conversation starters on hand to get a lively discussion going – but keep it all in good fun! No arguments allowed!
